As the revolutionary war was just beginning, American soldiers were in short supply. When the British arrived on Long Island
with substantial forces, General George Washington tasked the 400 men of the Maryland regiment with holding back the advance
of British troops so his meager army could retreat safely into Manhattan. The Old Line, as they were later called, saved
Washington’s Continental Army from annihilation. Historian Thomas Field called their efforts “an hour more precious to American
liberty than any other”. Nearly 250 years later, we are still in a battle for American liberty.
The Old Line Project is a statewide political action committee designed to hold back the advance of those attacking voting rights,
civil rights and women’s rights by funding social media campaigns designed to inform the public about proposed legislation,
candidates, or elected officials who may or may not be aligned with supporting these important principles of freedom.
It's 2022 and the hour is still precious. Please donate to our social media campaign fund today.
